What Have I Learned?
Rubric
Introduction
For this activity, you are going to create an online Jeopardy game using Jeopardy Labs. The game of Jeopardy features a quiz competition in which contestants are presented with general knowledge clues in the form of answers, and must phrase their responses in question form. For example, the general knowledge clue could be "Online Safety 101" and the correct response could be "What is the name of this website?". Be aware that it may take anywhere from two to four computer periods to complete the activity in this lesson.
Step #1
Go to Jeopardy Labs and click on the yellow "Start Building" button. You will need to create a password that will allow you to edit your template later (you may need to come back to your template several times in order to complete your game, so you will need to use a password that will be easy to remember). Once you have entered a password and confirmed the password, click on the "Start Building!" button below the window were you confirmed your password.
Step #2
First, click on the window at the top of the page and enter a title for your game. Next, click on any of the "Enter Category" windows and enter a category name. Hint: you may want to review the titles for the first nine lessons. Then, enter a category name in each of the remaining "Enter Category" windows.
Step #3
Once you have created all the categories, you will need to create five answers and corresponding questions under each category. Note that Jeopardy is backwards, so the answer appears first, and your audience guesses the "question". When you click on any of the yellow point values a window will pop-up. You are to type in the "Answer" first and then type in the corresponding "Question". Make sure all "Answers" and "Questions" are placed under the appropriate category.
Step #4
After you have entered all the "Answers" and "Questions" for all twenty five point values, click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page. You will notice a phrase saying "You're Done". All of the information that appears below "You're Done", will need to be highlighted. You will then copy the text and paste the text into a word processing document. Also, it may be a good idea to type in your password here so you don't forget it. Make sure you save a copy of the document into a file that you will be able to retrieve later.
Step #5
When you are satisfied with your Jeopardy game, take a screen capture of a completed board. Make sure you save the screen capture into a file that you will be able to retrieve.
